“Wedded Bus”

September 9th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

Okay, I’m no copywriter so “Wedded Bus” is the best name I could come up with for this awesome wedding suite we just designed for a couple that met on the bus! They came to us wanting to incorporate their bus story and Muni pass into their wedding invitations. We decided to tell their story through a personalized bus map we did for their save the date here and utilized the Muni pass imagery in their wedding suite below:

Wilfred

Has anyone been watching the new FX show Wilfred? I freakin’ love it. There are so many instances where Wilfred does something and I find myself saying “Yes! Jack does that too!”

Of course there are other instances that, fortunately, Jack cannot relate to.

Come on Irene

This headline pull-quote from Huff Post made me laugh.

“Let’s hunker down, get drunk and play peanut butter pranks until the storm blows over!”

In all seriousness though, I do hope the storm doesn’t do too much damage. It’s headed for my favorite childhood beach spot, Atlantic beach :(

Picker Sisters

August 25th, 2011 § 1 Comment

I think I’ve found my new favorite reality show. It’s on A&E and it’s called Picker Sisters. It’s the same premise as American Pickers except this time it’s 2 hot chicks driving across America picking up random junk for their upscale home decor shop in LA. This article on Huffington Post summed it up best describing it as “a horror movie waiting to happen” lol. If it weren’t for the giant camera crew they travel with, it would be a whole lot scarier for these gals approaching rando strangers in the backwoods of Louisiana. Deliverance anyone?

Regardless of the potential danger, I think it would be SO much fun traveling across the country finding old pieces like and converting them into upscale home decor. I love mixing old and new, and fragile textures like glass with wood and metal. Maybe Jack’s Master should do furniture! Okay okay maybe later. For now, check out some pictures from their shop I-10:

I love how chic they look while moving old rusty equipment.

Kardashian Khaos

Normally I couldn’t care less about the Kardashians and what they’re up to, but I saw this on TMZ and couldn’t help myself. My husband and I got married at the same hotel this “normal couple” got married at this weekend. I guess it was bit chaotic there with all of the Kardashian wedding guests staying at the hotel too.Fortunately everything worked out for them in the end and the K-dash Krew didn’t interrupt their wedding. AND even better, they made it on TMZ like famous celebs! A fun story to look back on and laugh about.

Ryan Gosling, real life hero

It’s official, Ryan Gosling is not only a hunky hero in the movies, but in real life too.

(in case you can’t tell, he’s the tall muscley guy in the striped tank breaking up the fight)

Hilarious Web Icons

I was doing some research the other day for a website I’m designing, and was looking for some web icons to use – the usual ones like “shop, home, profile etc.” I came across this one site though that had every icon you can imagine, some completely ridiculous ones that I don’t even know what you’d use them for, but I think they’re hilarious. Here were my favs:

Sloth icon

Contagious Disease icon

Mammogram icon

DryWell Quality Meat Art

August 17th, 2011 § 1 Comment

DryWell by Alyson Thomas is one of my new favorite Etsy artists. Almost everything she creates involves meat or meat parts. I think we may be kindred spirits because her “cheeky meat prints” are totally my kind of humor. Any play on words and/or painted quirky things is my cup o’ tea. Check out some of my favorites from her “Cheeky Meat” painted series. She’s done a ton! But these naughty few were my personal favs.

But Seriously…

These are part of our new “But Seriously” series we’re painting. The series is meant to break the ice before you apologize about your real goof-up, or they’re just meant to make you chuckle. We have some more goofy ones in the making, but here are our first two, hot off the presses! Check them out on our Etsy site too!
